What is SHEQ, HSSE & EHS?
The world has created many acronyms for describing frameworks under which the risks to organisations, people and environments can be monitored to minimise and mitigate potential harm or damage. Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) is often used interchangeably with terms such as Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) or Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). At their core, these framworks exemplify due dilligence and prudent governance across industries.
What is a Safety Management System (SMS)?
An SMS allows for the proactive management of operational risk - integrated across business silos. Hazards are not always within control, yet risks can be deemed acceptable when they are identified, controlled, monitored, and acknowledged within a safety framework.
What is included in my subscription?
Inclusions depend on your SONAR subscription tier. However, each subscription includes one branded SONAR account with access to standard features, and one branded SONAR native (Apple & Google) and web app.
Who manages and supports my SONAR account & app?
As a platform customer, you will be responsible for the operation of your account & app, including: setting up and maintaining your account, managing user groups, supporting your end-users, and appointing an internal account administrator. SONAR can provide access to industry experts and consultants to facilitate configuration. QA Checklist templates are also available upon request.
How long does it take for my account to be set up?
Once you accept your quotation, your account and apps can be set up within two (2) weeks. The implementation is unique to each organisation.
What are premium add-on features & services?
SONAR offers add-on services such as Consulting and Technical Solutions Architect services for setup/configuration guidance, and technical development assistance. This is billed at an hourly rate and will be quoted upon request. Premium features are optional add-ons that are offered at an additional monthly fee per feature.
On which app stores will my SONAR app be available?
Apple and Android, and as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
Where is my subscription hosted?
Each account is hosted with its own server environment and benefits from ServerOps, SecOps, server space & infrastructure, and SSL allocation. SONAR is enabled for vertical, horizontal and cloud scaling when needed.
What is the cost per user on SONAR?
There is no per user fee. Each tier comes with a maximum user limit; if the limit is reached, then you can move to the next subscription tier. Enterprise subscribers will simply require more processing power on their dedicated server.
Who made SONAR?
SONAR is developed by Everyday Digital (Pty) Ltd. in partnership with Acher Aviation (Pty) Ltd). and is based in South Africa. Everyday has built a selection of SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) platforms with a presence in Europe, Africa, Australia, and the USA.
How is the SONAR platform maintained?
Platform users benefit from continuous core feature enhancements, improvements and upgrades. Routine maintenance upgrades are made available to all subscribers, whilst some new features are offered as premium add-ons. SONAR is built on a framework that has been developed and maintained for over a decade. Every subscriber benefits from continuous core upgrades - evolving with tech over time.
Why should I choose SONAR?
SONAR bypasses the often immense cost of building and maintaining platforms or apps from the ground up. Subscription tiers allow you to scale as needed. Regional deployment of accounts allows for data sovereignty in the jurisdiction of your choosing.
How is SONAR secured
Built-in data privacy measures align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users can manage their account and data rights, and agree to an End-User License (EULA). We exclusively use enterprise-grade environments from ISO270001-compliant data centres worldwide, ensuring both speed and security.
Where can I get support and help?
You will have access to documentation and a dedicated support channel (depending on your support tier). Add-on support and training can be added at an additional monthly fee, as needed.
Which currency will I be billed in?
Our prices can be converted to your regional currency, upon request. Converted prices may be fixed for up to 12 months to ensure consistency.
Can SONAR help us with technical integrations?
SONAR offers Technical Consulting and Solutions Architect services for technical and/or development assistance. This is billed at an hourly rate and will be quoted upon request.
How many accounts can I have on my Subscription Plan?
Only Enterprise Subscriptions can have multiple accounts. Additional accounts are billed at a monthly rate per account.
How many SONAR apps can I link to my Account?
Pro and Enterprise Subscriptions may have multiple SONAR apps. A once-off compile fee applies per app. Please refer to the price plans for details or contact a SONAR representative.
When would I need multiple apps or accounts?
You can localise account and app management if you have multiple campuses, locations, or brands, or if you need isolated channels/departments.
How is my SONAR app branded?
You can customise your SONAR app by choosing an app theme (colour palette, logo, Google font, and app name).
Which devices is SONAR compatible with?
The SONAR platform backend is compatible with desktop only, the native apps are compatible with Apple or Android respectively (latest OS versions required), and the web app is compatible with evergreen browsers.
Do I create my own content?
Yes, you can! You have over 70 features at your fingertips to craft good-looking content. Pathway templates are available for you to edit and customise - making content creation easy. Content creation, media production services and strategic guidance are offered as an add-on service and billed at an hourly rate.
How can I encourage our audience to use the app?
You can invite app users through SONAR, distribute your app privately through app developer business accounts, or market your App Store & Web App links using communication channels available to you. SONAR also offers Uptake Assist - an add-on service whereby we assign an agent to contact your users via email or telephone at regular intervals to encourage sign up and completion. Uptake Assist is billed at an hourly rate.

Can I release a SONAR app through our own developer account?
All SONAR accounts are published through SONAR-affiliated developer accounts. In the rare case that a SONAR app should be published through a Subscriber's developer account, a SONAR Solutions Architect must be consulted.
What is the account and app implementation process?
Using a new platform is a learning curve and requires multiple roles to be fulfilled. SONAR helps you succeed by providing hands-on guidance to get you up and running.
Can we get in-person SONAR training?
Virtual, in-person training is available as an add-on service and is billed at an hourly rate.
What is currently integrated with SONAR?
Pitch, Pexels, Unsplash, PowerPoint and SCORM are active integrations. SSO with Google and Apple is also in place.
Where and how do I access my SONAR account?
The web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is accessible on a desktop browser and requires no installation.
Where and how do I access my SONAR apps?
The web app is available via a domain of your choosing; the native apps can be published to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Is SONAR available in my country?
Yes! Although headquartered in South Africa, we will appoint dedicated resources to service customers in their time zone.
